COMING SOON - The entire Kenesky narrative!
Our 2021, Second Chapter of the Legend's Tribute, honours the pioneer in goalie equipment manufacturing, Keneskys.
When we speak of the origins of the goalie pad, we speak of Keneskys.
Standing out front of the shop on the corner of Barton and Wellington street is Ed, Ott and Frank, three of the four Kenesky boys (Jack is not present).
Their father Emil, better known as 'Pops', lived upstairs with his family, above the bicycle repair shop.
The family business was about to embark on a journey, one that would forever bind them to the city of Hamilton, the hockey community and goalie creases around the world.
( Photo circa 1915 - 'Barton Sports Cycle Works' located on the corner of Barton and Wellington, Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. The very building where Kenesky's, 'a division of Barton Sports Cycle', was born).
More to come!
